Secure identity process
RON sessions use identity proofing, credential analysis and government-issued identification as required by Florida online-notarization procedures.
Need a Florida notary but cannot meet in person? For eligible documents, Remote Online Notarization (RON) lets you appear before a registered Florida online notary using compliant audio-video technology, identity verification and an electronic notarial certificate.
Remote online notarization is useful for clients traveling, working late, living outside Tampa Bay or coordinating signatures from different locations. The document and signer must still meet Florida RON requirements and any rules of the receiving organization.
RON sessions use identity proofing, credential analysis and government-issued identification as required by Florida online-notarization procedures.
A Florida online notary physically located in Florida may perform an online notarization even when the principal or witnesses are elsewhere, subject to applicable requirements.
We explain the appointment steps in English or Spanish so you know what to prepare before the secure session begins.
Eligibility depends on the document, receiving institution, signer circumstances and Florida law. We review the document before confirming an online appointment.
We first check whether the document appears suitable for RON and whether the receiving party accepts an online notarization.
You will need acceptable identification and must complete the identity-verification process required by the RON platform.
Meet the Florida online notary by live audio-video, complete the required signing and notarial act, and follow the platform prompts.
After completion, the electronically notarized file is made available according to the platform workflow. If international authentication is needed, ask us about the next step.

Not necessarily. Florida law allows a registered Florida online notary who is physically located in Florida to perform an online notarization even when the principal or witnesses are elsewhere, subject to the applicable requirements.
The RON process generally requires remote presentation of a government-issued identification credential plus credential analysis and identity proofing unless another statutory identity method applies.
No. Document eligibility, receiving-party policy, witness requirements and special statutory rules can affect whether RON is appropriate. We review the document before confirming the session.
Some electronically notarized Florida documents may have an authentication path, but the correct process depends on the document and destination. Tell us the country and intended use before assuming an apostille is available.
Send the unsigned document and tell us where it will be used. We will help determine whether remote online notarization or a mobile in-person appointment is the better fit.
